Fungus Contamination in Coffee Beans?

My wife showed me links to some articles claiming that fungi containing mycotoxins on coffee beans can cause health problems. The claims were mostly made by one individual that claimed that he felt badly after consuming coffee with the fungi but great when he drank coffee free of the fungi. His claims are somewhat suspect since he sells some very expensive coffee that he claims is mostly free of any fungi. He claims that studies show that there are dangerous levels of certain toxins produced by the fungus but others question the validity of his interpretation of the data.
